Bill brings a diverse offering of skills and knowledge to the studio. In addition to being a registered landscape architect, Bill is a certified arborist and horticulturalist. He seeks design solutions that are both creative and pragmatic, finding his greatest success in simple, elegant expressions of place and personality.
Bill gravitated to design after many years in landscape construction and maintenance. After earning a Master of Landscape Architecture from Virginia Tech in 2006, he worked at several well-regarded firms before landing at Water Street.
An avid photographer, Bill challenges viewers to see everyday environments anew. He spends his weekends making photographs, maintaining trails, visiting gardens, playing bluegrass and eating pork barbecue.
