The Valentine Richmond History Center is a museum dedicated to researching, interpreting and preserving the city of Richmond’s past. As part of a site renovation, Water Street Studio was involved in preparing landscape architecture and civil engineering drawings for the facility.

Working with the project architects and officials from Virginia Commonwealth University, the city of Richmond and this cultural institution, our team led the site design, Plan of Development (POD) approvals and Architectural Review entitlement processes for the garden and grounds enhancement project. The new plans improved parking, circulation and visibility while creating event space and garden terrace amenities, effectively renovating its dated and functionally obsolete south lawn and parking area.
